What is DAXXIFY?
Daxxify is a neuromodulator that is FDA-approved to smooth moderate to severe lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows. Unlike other neuromodulators that contain botulinum toxin type A, Daxxify contains peptides as a stabilizer, and this means it does not contain human or animal byproducts.
But like other neuromodulators that contain the botulinum neurotoxin, Daxxify works by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, stopping the muscles from contracting and smoothing out lines and wrinkles where it’s applied.
Who is a Good Candidate For Daxxify?
Are you a good candidate for Daxxify? Most of our patients qualify for Daxxify treatment, but there are some qualifications you’ll want to consider to determine if you’re an ideal candidate for this injectable. You may be a good candidate for Daxxify if:
- You are an adult in generally good health
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have realistic expectations
- You have a positive outlook
- You are a nonsmoker.
- You are looking to address moderate to severe frown lines
- You do not have any severe skin sensitivity or allergic reactions to botulinum toxin
- You don’t have any neuromuscular medical conditions

The Daxxify Procedure
The Daxxify procedure is an outpatient procedure that shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. The treatment will begin with Dr. Wilson cleaning the treatment area. From there, he will use a small needle to inject the formula into the specific area. At most, you will feel a slight pinch, but most patients tolerate it very well.
Once the injections are done, you can return to your normal routine immediately. There is practically no downtime.
Aftercare
After treatment, you may notice some swelling, redness, and tenderness at the injection site, but these will diminish on their own after a few hours or a few days.
Initial results typically take a day or two to show up with full results appearing about two weeks after treatment.
To ensure you achieve the best results, you’ll want to avoid touching or massaging the treated area for two days and keep the area out of the sun and extreme heat as much as possible. Additionally, avoid strenuous activities and alcohol for two days after treatment.
The results of Daxxify typically last between six and nine months, which is much longer than other neuromodulators. You’ll want to get maintenance treatment once or twice a year to keep up your younger-looking results.
