Laser Skin Resurfacing for Beautiful, Clear, Even Skin

Laser skin resurfacing is a popular way to achieve and maintain beautiful, clear, even skin. At AW Plastic Surgery, we take your skin concerns seriously – whether you desire small or more dramatic improvements. Dr. Wilson and his team of highly qualified laser technicians offer customized care to help you achieve your best skin possible.

How Do Lasers Work?

It seems that aging, while inevitable, can be delayed on a cosmetic level with some of the more effective solutions we have in aesthetics today. As a practice that works closely with patients and cutting edge skincare companies, and receives the latest training and methods to combat aging, we’ve seen some great results. One anti-aging treatment that works well to rejuvenate and resurface the skin is lasers. If you’ve never had a laser treatment, you may be wondering what the fuss is all about.

Many patients want something more when it comes to resurfacing and rejuvenating their skin. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Wilson invests in the latest and most effective laser technology to address patients’ skin concerns and help them look and feel confident.

Meet Our Lasers

The MOXI™ Laser is Sciton’s newest non-ablative laser, created to offer a revolutionary skin rejuvenation experience without harsh damage or breaking of the skin. Instead, the laser creates micro-injuries to the skin’s top layer, which signals your body to produce more collagen. This gently refreshes the skin’s surface – with minimal downtime and pain.

Designed to treat all skin types and tones, MOXI truly works for everyone. Clients looking to maintain a youthful appearance are finding success with MOXI. It’s commonly used to minimize hyperpigmentation and sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. It’s a perfect quick fix without lengthy downtime and recovery and can be used to boost the results of more aggressive lasers. If you have more advanced signs of aging, talk to your laser technician about the right combination of treatments.

BBL refers to Broad Band Light, which is a popular method of treating skin issues using light therapy. It is in the same family as IPL, or intense pulsed light, but instead of using a single, focused beam of light, BBL uses multiple light wavelengths (broadband) to reach wider areas for all-over skin restoration. It’s non-invasive and requires no downtime. Many patients choose this option for treating acne scarring, sun damage, veins and even hair removal.

BBL works by heating the top layer of skin, triggering cells to renew and your body’s production of collagen. This helps bring about clear, smooth, glowing skin. Our patients love seeing discoloration fade and pores become tighter and less noticeable.

The world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), is revolutionizing resurfacing. HALO delivers non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone, giving patients results they love without the discomfort or downtime they expect.

The Contour is the most intense laser procedure in our practice and is similar to a phenol peel, which goes deep underneath the skin to target the dermis. It is known as the Contour TRL, or “Tunable Resurfacing Laser,” because it offers customizable skin rejuvenation by using ablative skin resurfacing at a range of depths. This triggers the skin to produce more collagen, which brings about that youthful, bouncy look that diminishes with the natural aging process.

Using the Contour requires special training and is performed only by Dr. Wilson or one of our nurse practitioners. Being able to adjust the level of resurfacing means the Contour can treat patients with a variety of skin issues such as uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles, scarring, hyperpigmentation, age spots and sun damage, and actinic keratosis (rough, scaly patches). Downtime is typically two weeks with redness that can last for a few months.
