HALO Laser Treatment

Halo Laser Treatment in Portsmouth, NH – AW Plastic Surgery

Revitalize your skin and look refreshed when you discover our newest laser treatment, Halo. The Sciton Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser targeting uneven skin tone, dullness, and fine lines. If you’re wondering what this means, it boils down to the best of both ablative and non-ablative lasers to offer the ultimate in surface and deep tissue regeneration. Patients love the visible results that continually get better and the minimal downtime. Halo is fully customizable to treat a wide range of concerns without the long recovery period of more aggressive lasers. Let Dr. Anthony Wilson and the team at AW Plastic Surgery show you this innovative procedure that offers both surface and deep skin rejuvenation.

As you age, the structural building blocks and that keep your facial skin look youthful, full, and vibrant—collagen and elastin, for example—naturally break down. When you start to hit your late 20s to early 30s, your body beings to produce less and less of these important molecules. Over the years, this causes your skin to sag and lose significant volume, and the area where this is most visible is the face. At AW Plastic Surgery, we offer several facial plastic surgery procedures and non-surgical cosmetic treatments for those who want to rejuvenate and revive their tired face.

Lasers for Skin Rejuvenation

If you’ve visited our medspa, you’ve heard us talk about ablative and non-ablative lasers. These fancy terms indicate how they work to refine and resurface your skin. Ablative wavelengths resurface the top layer of skin, while the non-ablative wavelengths target deeper levels of the dermis. This more invasive, deep-level targeting prompts your body to stimulate the production of new collagen. While both lasers are excellent for improving skin tone and texture, they can cause redness, incur long periods of downtime as your skin repairs itself, and require several treatments to start seeing results.

Dr. Wilson and his entire staff are very knowledgeable. There is a team approach to achieve what the patient is looking for through skin care, products, injections and surgery. Dr. Wilson is very personable. I could not ask for a better plastic surgeon. Love the results.

Halo Gives You Better Skin With Less Downtime

Halo is the world’s first and one-of-a-kind hybrid fractional laser that uses a combination of ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. Lasers in the past required several treatments to show results and left patients with redness, irritation, and discomfort. This special combination of high and low frequency lasers provides a supercharged effect to improve tone and texture while combating fine lines and signs of aging.

All this with almost no downtime! Yes, your skin will be flushed immediately after treatment, but the technology is precise and only targets exactly what your skin needs. Our Halo patients are impressed with the visible results after about a week and enjoy seeing their skin improve over time for several weeks and months! When you trigger your skin to build collagen, you give it the gift that keeps on giving.

Frequently Asked Questions HALO

At AW Plastic Surgery, we consider patient education to be an essential component of care in every treatment and procedure we offer. We know that knowing the how’s and why’s helps you feel more comfortable and make better decisions about the best treatments to meet your goals. Here, we’ll answer several of the most frequently asked questions we get from our patients when it comes to the Halo laser.

Like all laser treatments, your technician will apply a numbing cream to protect your skin during treatment. You simply lay back, relax, and let the dynamic technology of the Halo laser go to work refreshing and rejuvenating your skin! The laser uses cooling technology to further minimize discomfort, and like other lasers, you’ll likely feel a heated sensation with mild prickling. The entire process takes about an hour, and then, you’ll be on your way with instructions for post-procedure care. The No. 1 tip is to stay out of the sun and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Depending on your specific skin needs, you will receive customized treatment for complete skin renewal. You may see desired results with just one treatment. Some of our patients like to do 2 to 3 treatments a year for maximum results. You and your technician will determine what’s best for you. Expect some slight swelling and redness after your Halo – similar to a sunburn. Within days of your first treatment, redness and swelling will subside, and your complexion will continue to improve.

It takes 2 to 3 weeks for patients to see a noticeable improvement in tone and pigmentation, and a gradually smoother skin as dermal layers continue to regenerate. Of course, results will vary depending on the severity of your skin concerns, but even just one Halo treatment yields improvement in complexion in most patients.

For the first few days, you’ll notice light peeling which means your skin is regenerating new, fresh cells and getting rid of the external layers. This is good news! Over time, you’ll see improved skin texture and tone, with scars and pigmentation decreasing and evening out. Your skin will regenerate with healthy, new cells. Make the most of these results with high-quality skincare and daily sunscreen, and people will wonder if you’ve found the fountain of youth.

The Halo system is safe for use on virtually all skin types and tones, and it can be adjusted to each patient’s needs. In fact, it is the most precise, safe, and consistent non-ablative technology on the market. It is truly unlike any other facial laser!

The combination of visible results after a single session, low downtime, and both ablative and non-ablative work for your specific skin needs means you can save the time of scheduling multiple laser treatments. Targeting both the epidermis and dermal layers is truly a breakthrough with improvements that continue over time. Our expert laser technicians will consult with you to determine your skincare goals and create a plan that’s right for you.
