Morpheus8 Non-Surgical Face and Body Contouring

At AW Plastic Surgery, one of the great things we’ve seen happening in aesthetics is the emergence of many new safe, non-surgical skin care and body contouring treatments. Plastic surgery can’t always be an option for a variety of reasons and sometimes isn’t needed. As an alternative to plastic surgery, huge steps forward in cosmetic medical and reconstructive technology allow our practice to offer patients minimally invasive body and facial contouring options like Morpheus8—when surgery isn’t part of your treatment plan.

Collagen and elastin—two important structural elements for tight, youthful skin—are the key to addressing signs of aging and surface irregularities, such as acne scarring. Morpheus8 helps us stimulate and promote your body’s natural production of these molecules. In addition to other areas of the body, this can be especially effective in the lower third of your face, an area more commonly treated with plastic surgery. Achieve a new youthful look with smoother, glowing skin all over your body with Morpheus8.

WHAT CAN MORPHEUS8 FRACTIONAL CONTOURING TREATMENTS BE USED FOR?

In aesthetics and plastic surgery, some treatments and procedures are simply designed to be more favorable to the anatomical and physiological characteristics of women, but Morpheus8 is a popular procedure for both men and women. It’s used for patients who want to improve the appearance of skin irregularities and early signs of aging, including:

  • Acne or surgical scarring
  • Uneven or abnormal texture
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin damage from UV (sun) exposure
  • Jowls
  • Enlarged pores
  • Wrinkles
  • Facial lines
  • Sagging skin on the neck and abdomen
  • Banana rolls under the buttocks or bra rolls

When used on both sides of the face, Morpheus8 allows us to create a uniform look, which helps highlight your face’s natural beauty and creates a better harmony between your facial features and contours.

WHAT IS A MORPHEUS8 APPOINTMENT LIKE?

At AW Plastic Surgery, patient comfort is one of our top priorities. We’ll discuss all your options during your initial consultation and talk through what you should expect with each treatment. During your Morpheus8 facial contouring appointment, we’ll apply a mild topical anesthetic, which will help numb the surface of your skin, so all you feel is a light pressure when we use the microneedling device.

After your appointment, you may experience some slight swelling or redness, but recovery from Morpheus8 is relatively quick. Compared to the downtime of surgery, which can last weeks at a minimum in most cases, you shouldn’t experience any discomfort or adjustment to your normal routine for more than a few days.

You may have some flaking as the tiny puncture spots from the microneedling heal, which is a good sign that your body is producing healthy new skin cells. Some patients experience tenderness from the radiofrequency energy being absorbed below the surface of the skin. Most patients can manage any lingering discomfort with over-the-counter pain medication.

Your skin will start to feel and look firmer almost immediately after your appointment. Within a few weeks, your body will start producing more collagen and elastin in the treatment area, and you’ll start experiencing the real benefits of Morpheus8. Your results should continue to improve for several months after your treatments. In general, we recommend several treatments scheduled about three to five weeks apart to acheive the optimal results for most patients.
