Sun damage, acne scars, uneven skin tone, and visible signs of aging are common problems that many people struggle with. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Achieve the skin of your dreams with HALO laser treatment. Our team at AW Plastic Surgery can help you look your absolute best!

What is HALO Laser Treatment?

The Sciton Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser and complete skin rejuvenation treatment system. It’s the only laser treatment system that combines both ablative and non-ablative lasers to address a number of skin concerns, including large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage,  uneven skin texture, uneven skin tone, and mild skin laxity issues. The HALO laser skin rejuvenation system can be customized to give you the results you’re looking for with minimal downtime.

Who is a Good Candidate for HALO Laser Treatments?

Halo laser treatments are safe for use on virtually all skin types and tones, and they can be adjusted to each patient’s needs. Some of the qualifications that make someone a good candidate for Halo laser treatment include:

  • Being in good overall health
  • Non-smoker
  • Looking to improve the health and appearance of your skin
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Not undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment
  • Have realistic expectations

The HALO Laser Treatment Procedure

The Halo laser treatment will begin with your provider applying a topical anesthetic to ensure you’re comfortable during the procedure. From there, your provider will apply the HALO laser to the treatment area. As it goes over your skin, cooling technology is administered to ensure you feel no discomfort. You may feel a mild prickling sensation, but that’s about it. The whole process will take about 2 hours, and one treatment session typically achieves optimal results, but how many treatments you need can depend on your skin concerns.

The implant that was put in after my mastectomy became very painful. I did a consult with Dr Wilson for removal and let me tell you I was very impressed by his kindness, caring and compassion. After the emotional rollercoaster of breast cancer the last thing I wanted was another surgery. I was equally satisfied with the outcome of my surgery. There was less concave then with the implant barely any I am so pleased with my appearance. I have lost a lot of faith in the health care industry it’s like you’re just a number. Thank you Dr Wilson for being that special Dr that put me and my feelings first. I’ve never seen a doctor be so caring, like it would sincerely bother you if I wasn’t completely satisfied with the outcome. You are amazing! I’m so thankful to have found you. If anyone out there is looking for a very caring skilled surgeon he is the one you will not be disappointed.

Aftercare

After HALO Laser treatments, you will likely experience some swelling and redness in the treatment area, but that’s typically the only side effect, and it will diminish on its own within a few days. Your skin may feel slightly warm for 30-60 minutes after treatment. You may also experience some skin peeling. Allow it to peel and fall off naturally. Don’t pick at it.

As you recover, you’ll want to wear sunscreen every day and use high-quality skincare products. You’ll want a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to ensure your skin is clean and hydrated. Additionally, stay out of direct sunlight for seven days after treatment.

As for results, you will see initial results within two to five days after treatment. Final results take two to three weeks for most patients, but it can depend on the severity of your skin concerns. Your skin will continue to improve as collagen production increases.

As the healing process continues, you’ll notice improvements in your skin texture and tone, pigmentation, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on treated skin. The results will last for years, and you can receive additional HALO treatment to maintain your results.

Frequently Asked Questions HALO

At AW Plastic Surgery, we consider patient education to be an essential component of care in every treatment and procedure we offer. We know that knowing the how’s and why’s helps you feel more comfortable and make better decisions about the best treatments to meet your goals. Here, we’ll answer several of the most frequently asked questions we get from our patients when it comes to the Halo laser.

What Should I Expect During a Halo Treatment?

Like all laser treatments, your technician will apply a numbing cream to protect your skin during treatment. You simply lay back, relax, and let the dynamic technology of the Halo laser go to work refreshing and rejuvenating your skin! The laser uses cooling technology to further minimize discomfort, and like other lasers, you’ll likely feel a heated sensation with mild prickling. The entire process takes about an hour, and then, you’ll be on your way with instructions for post-procedure care. The No. 1 tip is to stay out of the sun and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

When Will I Start Seeing Results?

Depending on your specific skin needs, you will receive customized treatment for complete skin renewal. You may see the desired results with just one treatment. Some of our patients like to do 2 to 3 treatments a year for maximum results. You and your technician will determine what’s best for you. Expect some slight swelling and redness after your Halo treatment – similar to a sunburn. Within days of your first treatment, redness and swelling will subside, and your complexion will continue to improve.

It takes 2 to 3 weeks for patients to see a noticeable improvement in tone and pigmentation, and gradually smoother skin as dermal layers continue to regenerate. Of course, results will vary depending on the severity of your skin concerns, but even just one Halo treatment yields improvement in complexion in most patients.

For the first few days, you’ll notice light peeling, which means your skin is regenerating new, fresh cells and getting rid of the external layers. This is good news! Over time, you’ll see improved skin texture and tone, with scars and pigmentation decreasing and evening out. Your skin will regenerate with healthy, new cells. Make the most of these results with high-quality skincare and daily sunscreen, and people will wonder if you’ve found the fountain of youth.

Is the Halo Laser Right for Me?

The Halo system is safe for use on virtually all skin types and tones, and it can be adjusted to each patient’s needs. In fact, it is the most precise, safe, and consistent non-ablative technology on the market. It is truly unlike any other laser!

The combination of visible results after a single session, low downtime, and both ablative and non-ablative technology means you can save the time of scheduling multiple laser treatments. Our expert laser technicians will consult with you to determine your skincare goals and create a plan that’s right for you.
