Platelet Rich Plasma
- September 9
The use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has expanded in cosmetic surgery and regenerative medicine. PRP, rich in growth factors, aids wound healing and finds applications in aesthetic rejuvenation, wound healing, and fat graft augmentation. Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) are valuable in regenerative medicine, aligning with PRP’s therapeutic applications. Challenges in applying adult human ASCs in the U.S. include FDA objections, leading to exploring PRP as an alternative for stem cell culture. However, PRP contains osteo-inductive growth factors that can influence bone marrow cells.
